Sultanahmet – Historic Peninsula
The area around the Sultanahmet Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, the Istanbul Archaeology Museums and the Hippodrome form the most compelling historical itinerary that can easily be covered in a single day. It is the area with the highest concentration of history and architecture.

Galata Tower – Karaköy
Galata Tower, the streets of Karaköy, the Galataport waterfront promenade and Istanbul Modern all lie along the same route. It is one of the city’s liveliest areas, both culturally and in terms of dining and drinking.

Fener – Balat
With its colourful houses with bay windows, cobbled streets, a feel of old Istanbul and plenty of photo opportunities, it is one of the city’s most distinctive neighbourhoods. Ideal for a leisurely stroll and exploring.

Kadıköy – Moda
It’s an excellent choice for a stroll, a coffee, street life and a more authentic taste of Istanbul on the Asian side. The Moda seafront promenade and shopping district offer a unique urban experience.

Üsküdar – Kuzguncuk - Beylerbeyi
A quieter route along the Bosphorus with stunning views and a strong sense of community. The Üsküdar waterfront stands out as one of the city’s most beautiful spots for watching the sunset.

Princes' Islands
Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, Kınalıada, Sedef island, Yassıada, Sivriada, Tavşan island, Kaşık island. The best options for a day trip to get away from the city crowds. There is no motor traffic; you can get around by bike or horse-drawn carriage. Access is by ferry.

Eminönü
The area around Eminönü and the Spice Bazaar is the best place to find fish sandwiches, Turkish delight, spices, nuts and Turkish coffee. Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi is one of the classic spots in this area.

Ortaköy
One of the most famous spots in Istanbul for kumpir (stuffed baked potato). It’s also a great place to stop for a break and enjoy a stroll along the waterfront, with views of the Bosphorus Bridge.

Kadıköy Downtown - Moda
It’s a prime area for cafés, patisseries, tavern-style spots and a relaxed street atmosphere. It’s one of the safest places to explore—not just for individual restaurants, but as a neighbourhood in its own right.
Karaköy–Galataport Line
A good choice for more modern, design-focused and varied dining options. You can both sit down for a meal and take a stroll along the seafront.

Çengelköy
A peaceful and charming alternative to the fish restaurants and cafés along the Bosphorus. A less crowded dining experience with a more neighbourhood feel.

Grand Bazaar
The most iconic destination for jewellery, carpets, gifts, leather goods and classic Istanbul shopping. With thousands of shops, it’s an experience in its own right—a shopping and cultural itinerary all in one.

Spice Bazaar
One of the best places to buy spices, tea, Turkish delight, nuts and edible gifts. As it is close to Eminönü, it can be combined with a visit to Sultanahmet.

Istiklal Avenue
It’s the perfect place to combine shopping in boutiques, arcades and vintage shops with a stroll. There are options to suit every budget; the Nostalgia Tram also runs along this street.

Nişantaşı
One of Istanbul’s top districts for boutiques, designer shops and a more upmarket shopping experience. Turkish and international brands all in one place.

Çukurcuma
The best place in town for antiques and vintage items. As it’s near Galata, it can easily be combined with a tour of Karaköy and Galata.

Arasta Bazaar
A quieter and more relaxed shopping experience near Sultanahmet. A must-visit destination for handmade ceramics, tiles and souvenirs.

Bosphorus Crossing & Tour by Ferry
One of the best ways to experience Istanbul. Şehir Hatları offers both short and long Bosphorus cruise options; you can travel between the two continents using ferry tickets.

Sunset – Üsküdar / Salacak
One of Istanbul’s most beautiful sunset spots. An extraordinary experience overlooking the European side of the Bosphorus, with views of the Maiden’s Tower.

Museum & Art Trail
Set aside a day for culture: Istanbul Modern, Galata Tower and the Archaeology Museums make for a well-rounded itinerary. Istanbul Modern is located in its new building within Galataport.

Photograph Tour – Balat & Galata
The colourful streets of Balat, the Galata area, Kuzguncuk and the Bosphorus coastline are the city’s best spots for a photography tour. Every shot tells a different story of Istanbul.
