The area around the Sultanahmet Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, the Istanbul Archaeology Museums and the Hippodrome form the most compelling historical itinerary that can easily be covered in a single day. It is the area with the highest concentration of history and architecture.

Princes' Islands

Princes' Islands

Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, Kınalıada, Sedef island, Yassıada, Sivriada, Tavşan island, Kaşık island. The best options for a day trip to get away from the city crowds. There is no motor traffic; you can get around by bike or horse-drawn carriage. Access is by ferry.

The area around Eminönü and the Spice Bazaar is the best place to find fish sandwiches, Turkish delight, spices, nuts and Turkish coffee. Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi is one of the classic spots in this area.
